EMPLOYMENT

The College of Direct Support…An innovative training program preparing staff for their role as a Direct Support Professional.

The 12 week training program combines web learning with classroom conferences and hands on experience and mentoring providing students with a well rounded foundation, preparing them for their role as a coach and supporter for persons with developmental challenges.

The program works hand in hand with the agency’s already established and mandated training program. Comprised of 57 web-based lessons, 20 hours of classroom conference time and unlimited coaching from mentors, staff  are schooled in everything from the history of direct service to developing best practices for those they support. Upon completion of the program staff can apply for Level 1 credentialing and begin creating portfolios which are then submitted to the NADSP for further consideration and National credentialing.
