Join people around the world in giving back to their community on Giving Tuesday.
Every year, Giving Tuesday kicks off the holiday giving season. It reimagines a world built upon shared humanity and generosity. Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to give.
Check back on how you can make a difference of the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
To Plant-To Grow-To Give Fundraising Dinner raises $100,000
On June 6th, we hosted to Plant-To Grow-To Give fundraising dinner and raised over $100,000 for our urban organic gardens operated by our residents. The event was presented by Lamb Insurance Services, with Grown By Nature sponsors Flag Waterproofing and Restoration and What I Like For Me Is GMO-Free sponsors Fran Picone, RSM US LLP, Merrick Pharmacy, Casey McKee, Warren & Warren PC and Donna and Bob Whiteford.
We can't stop thanking everyone!
Thanks to our generous supporters and friends, Mercy Home raised over $7,000 in online and offline donations for #GivingTuesday. Traditionally celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) after the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season. Thank you all for your generous support.
In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. and in celebration of his life and work, Mercy Home for Children hosted a day of service. We were joined by remarkable volunteers from Ridgewood Savings Bank, Superfly, Microsoft NY, and United Healthcare. See the photos of our wonderful volunteers on this fun day of service.
Beer, Bourbon, & Bites
October 7, 2021
Oh, what a night! There was fantastic weather, live music from Trifecta and our guest DJ, excellent food and drinks, an extensive array of raffle items, and so many friends. Thanks to you and all of our supporters, we were able to surpass our fundraising goal to raise money for our Creative Arts Therapy program for children with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities at Thursday's 5th Annual Beer, Bourbon, & Bites.
Your investment in our work is vital to us – especially as we reopen, refine and expand our services to those we serve. Together, we are laying the foundation for programs of quality and distinction that promote life skills lifelong.
We couldn't have done it without you and Beer, Bourbon, and Bites sponsors; THANK YOU!

Under the Brooklyn Sky
On June 15, 2017 friends and supporters joined us at Under the Brooklyn Sky on the rooftop of the Brooklyn Grange to celebrate Mercy Home and our organic farming project, Plant-Grow-Give. The view, the food, and the company were inspiring, and there was a great deal of joy and laughter throughout the evening.
Flower Power was great!
We hosted our first-ever and successful Flower Power virtual fundraiser and virtual floral arrangement workshop on May 13th. Thanks to the fantastic Aurea Sanabria Molaei of Flower Bodega, guests had a chance to learn behind-the-scenes secrets to creating eye-catching and captivating floral arrangements. Everyone had so much fun, and our competitive spirits emerged as we showed off our work.
Flower Power was supported by the Fellone Accordino Family Trust.
