DSP Spotlight- Claudia

Mercy Home has been enjoying the opportunity to highlight and celebrate the incredible work of our Direct Support Professionals in honor of DSP Week! We are now proud to spotlight the incredible Claudia Stern, of our Mary Casey Residence.

Claudia has been nominated for this staff highlight by her manager and coworker. “Ms. Claudia is a charismatic, fun, cheerful person and DSP. She takes the initiative to plan fun activities and she engages all of the Ladies in her care in person-centered activities, interests, and outings”.

Known for her love of organizing and facilitating community outings for her residents and for her positive attitude, Claudia was able to continue her excellent work even in the height of the pandemic. She discovered ways to celebrate life and still plan activities that were entertaining, fun, and safe for both the residents and staff.

Her manager says of her character, “Claudia is deserving of recognition and special acknowledgment for her positive attitude, her creativity and the care & compassion that she provides to the Individuals in her presence and care”.

We applaud Claudia’s work, ingenuity, and kindness, and are so grateful she is part of the Mercy Home team. We also are so proud to announce that Claudia was selected as a Winner for the NY alliance for the Long Island Region and RCWT DSP award. Congratulations, Claudia!
