WHAT: The third annual Beer, Bourbon, & Bites will take place at Mercy Home in Brooklyn, NY. The event will feature beer from Coney Island Brewery, Captain Lawrence Brewing Co, Hofbrau Bierhaus NYC, Lagunitas Brewing Company and SixPoint. Unlimited samplings of bourbon and wine from American Barrels Bourbon, Corkscrew Wines, Prohibition Distillery, and Tops Wine will be available for tasting. With the support of Brooklyn caterers and restaurants, donated food will be featured throughout the evening from Bon Soir Caterers, Brooklyn Kolache, Brooklyn Tap House, Da Ciro, Dannee Thai, Key Food, Lassen & Hennigs, Liberty Pizza, Margaret Palca, Mercy Home's- Plant - Grow – Give organic garden, Sigmund’s Pretzels, Soco, Taqueria Tepango, and TB Coffee House.
WHO: Beer, Bourbon, & Bites fundraising event is organized by Mercy Home, a nonprofit in Brooklyn that provides services and homes for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The event is supported by the generosity of leading event sponsors Lamb Insurance Services and Mutual of America as well as Flag Waterproofing and Restoration, the Aris Family, and Lisa Goldstein.
WHY: 1 in 59 children in the United States are diagnosed with autism. Arts Therapy teaches vital socialization skills that help children become independent and learn essential stress management techniques. Beer, Bourbon, & Bites will raise money for Mercy Home’s free Creative Arts Therapy (CAT) program for children with autism and autism spectrum disorder.
